GARRY PINCH
Garry Pinch established Accounting Professionals in April 1996 with the assistance of a full time secretary/bookkeeper (who is still with our firm today) and serviced a small number of business and personal clients. Accounting Professionals has grown substantially since 1996: -
- Our team has grown from 2 to 22 team members;
- Our annual turnover has increased by more than 10 times our 1996 turnover;
- Our number of business clients has also increased ten-fold.
Garry’s primary focus and responsibility is working with the firm’s business clients to develop their business strategies and action plans that will guide them to success. He has successfully worked with a large number of business clients in the Shellharbour and Illawarra community in developing and expanding their businesses over the 30 years he has been in practice.
Garry is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants and member of the National Tax and Accountants Association. He has also tutored part time at the University of Wollongong and James Cook University in Accounting, Taxation and Business Services. During his 30 years in practice, he has presented papers on Business Improvement Strategies to various business and government groups.
Having been born, educated and worked in Shellharbour, Garry has a passion to see Shellharbour and Illawarra businesses prosper in the local, state, national and international business markets.
ANGELA HALES
Angela Hales joined Accounting Professionals as a Trainee Accountant in March 1999 whilst completing a BCom (Accounting) and BArts (Japanese) double degree at the University of Wollongong. Whilst at university Angela, gaining the honour of being awarded for Excellence in Accounting Studies in 2000 for Top Third Year Accounting Student. Upon completion of university, Angela completed the Chartered Accountants Program, becoming a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in 2002.
Angela progressed through Accounting Professionals from Trainee to Accountant/Client Manager to Partner on 1st July 2004. Angela’s primary responsibility is to work with her business tax compliance team in providing specialist business tax advice to the firms business clients.
Having grown up in the Illawarra region, Angela is keen to see the businesses in the Shellharbour and Illawarra area continues to grow and succeed at all areas of business.
MARK PLACEK
Mark Placek started as a trainee at Accounting Professionals in March 1998. In this time he has completed his Bachelor of Commerce Degree at the University of Wollongong (2001), completed the CA program and admitted to the Institute of Chartered Accountants (2003) and admitted as a partner at Accounting Professionals (2004).
Mark and his team provide a broad range of services for clients ranging from general accounting & compliance to detailed taxation & business advice. Mark is responsible for managing the firm’s growing SMSF client base, providing taxation, compliance and administration advice.
Having been born and educated in the Illawarra, Mark is an active member of the sporting community and currently has roles on committees of a number of sporting organisations.
